Ninja Attack
Today the fiancée and I went out to shop for candy dishes for our bar-o-sweets, and we found five more dishes to add to the other ones that she had already found with her grandmother. We went to Salvation Army (my fave), they didn't have any flower print shirts which was my real goal of traveling there. Then we went to Community Aid, we found some more dishes, but again I came up empty as I was really looking for some retro sneakers. We made our way over to Goodwill after that, and left shortly, empty handed. After a short trek to the mall, we decided to grab some food at Isaac's. Dinner was good, we paid, and walked out. On the way to the car I heard an "E-Yahh!", and just as I was asking my fiancée if I had imagined it the karate cry repeated itself. Then I spotted who I was hoping was going to turn out to be a ninja, but it was just some idiot talking way too loudly on his cell phone. I guess that was a good thing though, because I was way too full and it was too soon after dinner to be fighting ninjas.

Sacrifice
So my fiancée found her dress when we went to the boutique a coupla days ago, i know that she absolutely loves it so we are finding a way to pay for it. You see, it's like a thousand dollars over the portion of the budget that we had allotted for it. I have also been in the market for a motorcycle. Can you guess what my price range was for that? Well, if you said about a thousand dollars, then you got it right. The end result of this story? my fiancée will be wearing my motorcycle on our wedding day, but that's okay because i love her, and that is her day so she should enjoy it and look perfect, because after that she's stuck with me, and oh yeah I am still going to get a motorcycle (eventually)!

The Venue
Well Arsenal dropped two points yesterday and my friend bailed on me as usual in the evening, but between those two events my bride and I visited the perfect venue for our wedding (ceremony and reception). The place in question, the Capitol Theatre in Chambersburg. They have an excellent ballroom and a stage where we will tie the knot. We also have the option of playing a movie during the reception, my first choice would be "Blade Runner," but i don't think that will fly so we decided to go with our theme and have them show the Disney Short "A Midsummer Night's Dream," starring Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy. I'm cool with that too, because I am a major Disney freak. This place screams vodka rocks, maybe Ketel One instead of my usual Stoli. I think our signature cocktail is going to be a Sour Appletini, and for beer I am going to go with Miller Lite, bottles of course.
Oh yeah, the best part about the venue is that our wedding will be the headline on the Marquee out front of the theatre. it's real old school, and awesome. so we are kicking around the idea of sending out movie "tickets" with the invitations for our guests to gain admission to the theatre.

Venue Hunting
We will be going to look at a venue today, and let's face the music, everybody knows that ultimately the bride is going to have the last word on the space for the reception. So, in order to keep my mind stimulated, I think of other things that the space could be used for. For example, a few months back we went to look at a place called the Ribbon Mill. The ball room is very complex, it's rustic and modern at the same time. The ceilings are very high, and there are columns about every eight feet down the middle of the room. What does this set up cry out to me? Dodgeball!!! Since I knew that this would never be, I began to take in the aura of the room. What do I mean by that? Well, by that i mean what type of liquor I would be drinking during the reception. The answer to that is a bit unusual for my list of usual suspects, but I would have to go with Maker's Mark, on the rocks, with the most minuscule splash of lime.
Remember to listen for the questioning inflections directed toward you in your bride's voice whilst you are daydreaming, because this is going to require some sort of response from you. Tell her what you think she wants to hear, and then continue to venture back to your happy place.

DIY Ring Pillow
So, today we went to Barnes&Noble to look for some inspirational wedding stuff, well actually I just wanted a Cafe Americano from Starbucks. Our current theme is A Midsummer Night's Dream, which makes me think of Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, so I was trying to find some sort of picture in a book that would match that theme. Nothing really caught my eye, and this is how I know I have a keeper; my beautiful bride-to be suggested maybe there is some sort of graphic novel (no such luck). I am twenty-five and I was looking for a picture-book, fml. From there we went to the Dollar Tree. Sam was looking for some new flowers for a second go at a DIY ring pillow. She has a great idea for the new one with like a suspended-in-air look built from a circular foam piece. As she was holding up the piece asking me what I thought, all i could think about was: "holy hell, I really want a damn donut". As we were checking out, I took notice to the older cashier lady's misdrawn eyebrow. There was a stray pencil line well above where the brow should have been, and it was purple. I'm pretty sure that she had an audition later to be the crazy cat lady for the live-action version of "The Simpsons."
